5 Quick Ways of Building More Blog Traffic

Blogging is fun! It is a way of getting you thoughts out that are started to cram up in your head. But, you’re not blogging just to hear yourself, are you?? Let’s face it…we all want a blog with good, solid daily traffic. If you don’t make the effort to get more traffic though, you surely aren’t just going to get it by writing endlessly with no outside work.

Here are 5 quick ways of building more traffic for your blog:

1. Entertain your readers! Everyone loves a good laugh every now and again, if not daily. Trust me, it gets the people’s attention.

2. Involve your readers and followers. Engage them in posts by, for example, posting their favorite people, places, and things, or whatever is in relevance to your niche/post of the day.

3. Submit articles that are in relevance to your blog niche. Virtual Toolbar is reporting the high numbers of traffic that these sites are seeing and their Alexa ranking

Good Article Sites Are: AssociatedContent, Hubpages, Squidoo, and Examiner

4. Join a variety of social media communities and stay active! Take advantage of every, single feature on each one.

Solid Social Media Communities Are: Facebook, Youtube, and Flickr

5. Pay attention to which of your posts receive the most feedback, reposts, and retweets. Take this into consideration, and think about stay close to those types of posts. When the readers have a positive reaction, take that and RUN!

*Bonus* Expand your horizon as a writer. Don’t always focus solely on your 1st niche. Write about other topics to reach an audience outside of the regulars. For example, if you’re an interior designer, try writing about fashion, or even other home and lifestyle topics like food, travel, and entertaining. They all connect on some level.

Finally, do not get discouraged. What’s that old saying??? “Rome was not built in a day!” Stay in the game. The more you blog, the better you will get. The more you network, the more readers will come.

Small Biz Lady

Today’s post is quite different from my other posts. That’s because for the next few days, I want to inspire you to be a better business woman. Because women are such passionate creatures, I find that sometimes we are being motivated with a lot more passion than business sense (not necessarily in all cases). Don’t get me wrong, passion is a VERY good thing, but it is equally important to have a grip on the business side of your passion. As a woman who has been in and out of different types of businesses since I was 19, I truly know the value of this and how it will make your business much more successful. BTW, I didn’t start off taking the business step forward. I was all about passion. Eventually, I had to retrace my steps and regroup by taking a more business+passion approach.

Moving forward…

That’s why I’ve decided to do my first post on evolving as a business woman on Melinda Emerson’s blog, Small Biz Lady. Whether you have heard of her or not, once you visit her blog, I guarantee you will be as inspired as I was by the amount of information that is there for those who are in business. I am confident that you will find something that will make you reevaluate how you view your business and what approach you take from now on. Below, I have  posted links to her incredibly motivating blogs, Twitter network, and she even has a book (so I posted that too).
